Gameplay trailer, market research, and more
Quite a lot has happened since my last update!
1) Created a gameplay trailer
2) Updated the Steam page: Click here
3) Checked in with reddit on marketability
/cozygames
/survivalgames
/roguelites
/survival
The general feeling from posting on these subreddits is that the game mostly appeals to a small subset of people, but the people it appeals to seem to really like it!
4) Updated the demo so that it has a tutorial for first-time gamers.
5) Reached out to people in the gaming industry, particularly those in games marketing, and got their feedback on the game.
It appears that a revamp of the art is needed again, but I have a pretty good idea of what to do. Checking in with my play testers also shows that the upgraded design is more marketable, which is promising. I’ll be taking some more art classes over the next few weeks and then try this out!
Lots to do, but things appear to be going in the right direction, so I’m hopeful.
